Running a Melbourne Cup sweep is easy! Simply download our A4 printable Melbourne Cup sweep, cut out the horses and place them into a hat. Draw the horses out of a hat for each of your sweep entries, writing down the name of each entrant next to the horse on the left hand side of the sweep.

Whether you decide to run the sweep for fun or for money is up to you!

Here are some fun facts about the Melbourne Cup that you may or may not want to know once you’ve selected your horse in the sweep.

• No horse has ever won the Melbourne Cup from Barrier 18.
• Barrier 5 has been most successful, producing eight Melbourne Cup winners.
• Prince Of Penzance was the last horse to win the Melbourne Cup from barrier 1.
• Horses with saddlecloth numbers 4 and 12 have had the most success with 11 wins.
• The unluckiest saddlecloth number is 18 with just 1 win.
• Jockeys wearing black seem to be lucky when it comes to winning the Melbourne cup.
• Navy Blue and Royal Blue have been very successful silk colours in recent years.
• Melbourne Cup favourites have won 32 times.
